Djordje Djuric (Aris, Greece) - born April 24 1971. in Ljubinje. Height 1,98 m,weight 90 kg. Achievements with the national team: bronze and silver medals at the European Championships 1995 and 1997; bronze medal at the 1996 Olimpic games and silver medal at the World Championship 1998.

- I did not expect such sucess. We had good concentration throughout the contests and at the end exhaustion took its toll. After two defeats in the finals, I expect a gold medal on the next World Championship.



Vladimir Batez (Forli, Italy) - Born Septembar 7 , 1969 in Novi Sad. Height 1,92 m, weight 85 kg.Achievements with the national team: bronze and silver medal on the European Championships of 1995. and 1997.bronze medal for the Olympic games of 1996. and silver medal for the World Championship of 1998.



Zeljko Tanaskovic (Red Star, Yugoslavia) - Born July 8, 1967 in Luchani. Height 1,98 m,weight 94 kg. Achievements with the national team: bronze and silver medals on the European Championships of 1995. and 1997, bronze medal from the Olympic games and the World Championship of 1996.and silver medal from 1998.World Championship. Captain of the national team.

- We showed our true faces for the World Championship, great persistance and enthusiasm. I hope that we represented Yugoslavia in the right manner.



Slobodan Boskan (Vojvodina, Yugoslavia) - Born August 18, 1975.in Novi Sad.Height 1,97 m, weight 87 kg. Achievements with the national team: bronze and silver medal on the European Championships of 1995. and 1997, bronze for the World Championship of 1996. and silver for the World Championship of 1998.



Djula Mester (Gabeka, Italy) - Born April 3, 1972.in Subotica. Height 2,03 m,weight 90 kg. Achievements with the national team: bronze and silver medal on the European Championships of 1995.and 1997, bronze medal on the Olympic games and the World Championship of 1996. and silver medal for the World Championship of 1998.



Nikola Grbic (Alpitur, Italy) - Born Septembar 6, 1973.in Zrenjanin.Height 1,94 cm, weight 91 kg.Achievements with the national team: bronze and silver medal on the European Championships of 1995.and 1997, bronze medals from the Olympic games and the World Championship of 1996.also a silver medal from the World Championship of 1998.

- I cannot say that we were overcome by any physiological factor, we were just overruled by tiredness, and six players carried a great burden throughout the whole championship. Sorry to say but tiredness got the better of us when if was most inconvenient.



Vladimir Grbic (Roma, Italy) - Born December 14,1970. Height 1,93 m, weight 87 kg. Achievements with the national team: bronze and silver medal from European Championships of 1995. and 1997, bronze medal from the Olympic games and World Championship of 1996, silver medal on the World Championship.



Andrija Geric (Vojvodina, Yugoslavia) - born January 24, 1977. Height 2,03 m, weight 101 kg. Achievements with the national team: bronze and silver medals from European Championships of 1995 and 1997, bronze medal from the Olympic games and World Championship of 1996 and silver medal for the World Championship of 1998.



Goran Vujevic (Olimpiakos, Greece) - born February 27, 1973 at Cetinje. Height 1,92 m, weight 94 kg. Achievements with the national team: bronze and silver medal from the European Championships of 1995. and 1997, bronze medals from the Olympic games and the World Championship of 1996 and silver medal from the World Championship of 1998. Officially the best server in the world.



Ivan Miljkovic (Partizan, Yugoslavia) - born September 13, 1979. in Nis. Height 2,06 m, weight 88 kg. Achievements with the national team: silver medal from the World Championship of 1998.



Veljko Petrovic (Vojvodina, Yugoslavia) - born January 23, 1977 in Kraljevo. Height 1,99 m, weight 88 kg. Achievements with the national team: silver medal on the World Championship of 1998.



Igor Vucurovic (Budva Riviera, Yugoslavia) - born September 24, 1974, in Berane. Height 2,00 m, weight 86 kg. Achievements with the national team: silver medal on the European Championship of 1997, silver medal on the World Championship of 1998.



Coach: Zoran Gajic. Born 1958 in Panchevo. In March 1995 he took over the Yugoslav national team and under his leadership started a new era of Yugoslav volleyball: bronze medal on the European Championship of 1995 in Greece, bronze medal on the Olympic games of 1996 in Atlanta, bronze medal on the World Championship of 1996, silver medal on the European Championship of 1997 in Holland, silver medal on the World Championship of 1998 in Japan. Since this season, Gajic is the coach for the Greek champions, Olimpiakos, from Athens.

- Not long ago we would have been overwhelmed if somebody offered us a silver medal, but I think that we could have done better.
