Sinisa Mihajlovic

In the 11-th round of the Italian football championship, the city rivals of Rome, Lazio and Roma were tied - 3:3. Lazio led until the 79-th minute with a score 3:1, mostly owing to the Yugoslav national team player Sinisa Mihajlovic, who was the assistant when his team (Lazio) scored first two goals. Since Mihajlovic left the game, Roma, the team having the former captain of Belgrade's Partizan Ivan Tomic play for them, managed to tie the score and also had a chance to win the match, but the final score was 3:3. The second Yugoslav national team player in Lazio, talented Dejan Stankovic scored when his team was already in the lead (3:1), but the referee called it off-side position, so the score remained 3:1.

Three of the Yugoslav national team players were crucial for their teams' victories in three of the most important games of the 12-th round of the Spanish championship. Vladimir Jugovic, when scoring from penalty in the 39-th minute, brought victory for Atletico Madrid in the match against the hosting Barselona. With this victory, Jugovic's team went up the table up to the third place, having only two points less than the leading Majorca. Real Sociedad played a game in Santander against Racing. Darko Kovacevic has continued his this year's series of successful plays. He scored with a header in the 67-th minute and brought three points to his team, Real Sociedad. Finally, the player of the hosting Saragoza, Savo Milosevic scored a goal in the 6-th minute, which was the only goal in the match with Oviedo.

As of this yuear, the sport biography of the Yugoslav football player and member of Real Madrid Predrag Mijatovic, will have two more titles - European and World Club Champion. At the stadium in Tokio, Real Madrid beat the Brasilian team Vasco da Gama 2:1 in the match of the Intercontinental "Toyota" football cup. The second goal for Real, which decided the game was scored by the Spanish national team player Raul in the 83-rd minute. He was proclaimed the best player of the game. Predrag Mijatovic was in Raul shadow in this match. Mijatovic, the player who scored the goal in the final game of the European Champions League, matching Real and Italian Juventus, and made it possible for his team to compete for the title of the Intercontinental Champion in Tokio. Mijatovic played in Tokio well, in spite of the fact that Brasilian players payed special attention to him, aware of his extraordinary football qualities.
