Players of Lazio congratulate Mihajlovic

Spectators at the Olympic stadium in Rome and the entire Italian sports public will for a long time remember the historic achievement of the Yugoslav player Sinisa Mihajlovic in the match of the 13th round of the Italian championship, between the home Lazio and Sampdoria of Genoa (5:2).

In the match against his previous club, Sampdoria, Mihajlovic scored his three goals from free kicks. This has nor been done by anyone before in a long history of Italian championships. By brilliantly scoring in 29th, 44th and 52nd minute, he proved that he is today rightfully considered the world's best free-kick shooter and that the distances of more than 30 meters are no problem for him.

Out of 17 goals in one of the strongest leagues in the world Mihajlovic scored 16 from free kicks. By doing that he set a new record, which was until now held by Zola with 15 goals.

For everything at the Olympic stadium to be in the sign of the Yugoslav players, an effort was made also by Dejan Stankvic, who scored the fourth goal for Lazio, in 83rd minute.
