Mallorca, Spain, March 2 - Yugoslav international Jovan Stankovic hit a hat-trick as Real Mallorca demolished 4-1 French league leaders AS Monaco in their UEFA Cup Fourth Round first-leg clash on the Balearic island. Monaco actually led after just two minutes, but Stankovic's triple made it a forgettable night for guests. Yugoslav striker leveled after 42 minute, with a glorious free-kick with his left foot that left Fabien Barthez with no chance. The following two goals Stankovic scored in the second half, both by penalties.

Turin, Italy, March 2 - Italian Juventus celebrated a 1-0 win over Spanish Celta Vigo at Turin's Delle Alpi stadium thanks to Yugoslav Darko Kovacevic who headed home from the close range after a free-kick from Alessandro Del Piero in the 49th minute. The Yugoslav international has now scored ten goals in seven games in the UEFA Cup.

The another Yugoslav player in the Italian team, Zoran Mirkovic, played the whole match and gave a good performance in the defence.

Florence, Italy, March 1 - A 20th minute penalty by Predrag Mijatovic gave Italian AC Fiorentina a 1-0 win over Spanish Valencia in their UEFA Champions League Group B match at the Artemio Franchi stadium. Former Valencia striker Mijatovic was judged to have been brought down inside the area by Luis Milla and the Yugoslav rose to convert the spot kick.

"I am very happy because I finally scored my first goal in the UEFA Champions League this season. Now we have a good chance of qualifying, but we still have three difficult matches to play", said Mijatovic after the match.

Despite defeat at Artemio Franchi stadium in Florence, Valencia's Miroslav Djukic made a good performance in defence, preventing Fiorentina's striker Gabriel Batistuta to score a goal.


Rome, Italy, February 29 - Lazio was surprisingly defeated at home by Dutch Feyenoord 1-2 in their UEFA Champions League Group D clash at the Olympic stadium in Rome. Lazio took a lead through Juan Verón after 37 minutes. Two Feyenoord's substitutes, Danish Tomasson and Yugoslav Radoslav Samardjic turn the result round. Tomasson scored the both goal for Feyenoord, the first one after Samardjic's cross.

Lazio's player Sinisa Mihajlovic had to leave the pitch through the hip injury in the 39th minute, while Dejan Stankovic replaced Inzaghi in the 60th minute.
