Yugoslavia's Becej beat Russia's Lukoil Spartacus 12-7 in the European Men's Water Polo Champions' League round four qualifier played in Volgograd. Becej has in this way practically ensured participation in a tournament in which Europe's four best teams compete.
Partizan from Belgrade drew 5-5 with Russian Dinamo, in the quarter-finals second-leg match of the Cup of Cup's Winners, and eliminated from this competition. In the first-leg match in Moscow, Dinamo won 8-3.
