Buducnost from Podgorica has a good chance of reaching women's handball Champions' League semifinals semifinals, since it ended the first quarterfinal game with the European champion Dunaferr from Hungary with a tie - 33-33 (21-16).
Dunaferr were leading by seven goals (27-20) in the 39th minute. It was mostly thanks to captain Maja Bulatovic, who scored 15 goals, that the Yugoslav champion succeeded to achieve favorable score during the last 20 minutes.
Unlike Buducnost, Sintelon from Backa Palanka was a disappointment in Spain, since it went down to home team Valladolid in the first quarterfinal game of men's handball Cup of Cities. The score was 20-32 (7-15).
The Yugoslav team was leading by 4-2 in the 10th minute, but received 11 goals by the end of the first half and scored only 5. During the second half, Sintelon handball players could not find solution to fast play of the Spaniards.
