Red Star and Napredak
go for the trophy

Playing wisely and patiently, players of Red Star Belgrade achieved their aim - they beat Milicionar Belgrade and placed in the Yugoslav Football Cup finals. For the first time in their history, Napredak Krusevac managed to reach the finals. They have beaten Zemun in their stadium, after the penalty kicks. Hero of the triumph was goalkeeper Slavoljub Krnjinac, who saved Jalovac`s shot from the penalty spot.

Final match is played on May 21st in Partizan stadium in Belgrade.

Milicionar Stadium. Attendance: 6,000. Referee: Dusan Mrakic (Belgrade). Booked: Katic, D. Stojkovic (Milicionar).

GOALS

Red Star led from 41st minute. Dejan Ilic stole the ball from hosts in the middle of the field, and passed it towards Leo Lerinc, who hit the net for the first time with a precise diagonal shot from about 14-15 meters distance.

After Lerinc`s corner in 57th minute, Branko Boskovic scored an extraordinary goal with a spectacular over-head kick from around 7-8 meters distance.

In the 72nd minute, Stevanovic broke through on the right side and instead of a cross, he made a short pass to Georgioski who ran into penalty area and with a a sharp and precise kick hit the target.

Scorers from penalty kicks: Kojicic, Krstic, Vidojevic, Stefanovic, Mijatovic for Napredak. Djuric, Bojanic, Kruscic and Veselinovic for Zemun. Napredak goalkeeper Krnjinac saved Jalovac's shot.

Milicionar - Red Star in semi-final

Belgrade, April 10 - Red Star Belgrade, as a guest, will play Milicionar Belgrade in the Yugoslav Football Cup semi-finals, it was decided by draw today. In the second semi-final match, Napredak Krusevac will host Zemun.

Semi-final matches will be played on April 19.

Red Star in semi-final, Obilic eliminated

April 5 - Red Star, harder than expected, beat Radnicki Kragujevac. Zeleznik surprisingly won over Obilic, after penalties. Zemun recorded a convincing away win in Niksic. Napredak's goalkeeper Slavoljub Krnjinac was a hero of the match in Krusevac as he saved two shots from the penalty spot.

Surprise in Zemun - host team beat Partizan 4-3, by penalties! After boring first-half, in the second period guests dominated the game, attacking in waves and missed at least five good chances to score. A man of the match was Zemun's goalkeeper Ristovic who saved Kezman's and Trobok's shots from the penalty spot.
