Kovacevic secures Juventus champion's title?
Scoring twice against host Inter Milan at San Siro stadium in Milan (Juventus won 2-1), Yugoslav Darko Kovacevic is probably the one who secured Juventus their 26th title. After 30th round team from Turin keeps top spot of the table of the Italian football League with 65 points, five clear of Lazio who were held to a 3-3 draw by Fiorentina. Yugoslav Sinisa Mihajlovic scored third goal for Lazio from penalty, one minute from time, while Predrag Mijatovic set up one goal for Fiorentina
Kovacevic, whose 88th minute goal had paved the way for
Juventus dramatic victory by the same scoreline at Bologna last
Sunday, in the 55th minute chipped the ball over the onrushing Angelo Peruzzi in the Inter goal.
Yugoslav striker added his second 11 minutes from time, using his height
and strength to rise above Peruzzi and plant a firm header into
the back of the net.
