BELGRADE, April 22 (Tanjug) - Thabiso Moqhali of Lesoto is the
winner of the 13th Belgrade Stark Marathon on Saturday, clocking 2 h,
15 min, 8 sec.
Persy Sephooa, also of Lesoto, was second with the time 2 h, 15
min, 20 sec.
The Kenyans did not even get onto the winners' rostrum,
since third place was taken by Lawrence Peu of South Africa, clocking 2 h, 16 min, 17
sec.

The women's race was won by Cristina Pomacu of Romania
in two hours 36 minutes 54 seconds, almost four minutes
slower than the course record she set in cooler conditions
six years ago.
Rimma Dubovik of Ukraine was second with the time 2 h, 37 min, 35
sec. Svetlana Tkachi of Moldavia was third, clocking 2 h, 39 min, 9
sec.
Yugoslav athlete Dragoslav Prpa is
the winner of the semimarathon held within the 13th
International Belgrade Stark Marathon, clocking 1 hr, 8 min, 47
sec.
Latis Mircea of Romania was second, and Andrei Tarasenko of
Ukraine third.
Yugoslav athlete Olivera Jevtic won for the third time in a row in the semimarathon, among women contestants, which was held within the 13th International Belgrade Stark Marathon.
Jevtic clocked 1 hr, 12 min, 36 sec. She triumphed at the 1997
and 1998 marathons.
Mira Preradovic was second and Jelena Raicevic third, both of
Yugoslavia.
Cristina Pomacu of Romania and
Petko Stefanov of Bulgaria came first in the Balkans marathon, which was held within the 13th Belgrade Stark Marathon.
Pomacu was first among Balkan women contestants, and Stefanov
first among men athletes of Balkan countries.
Among men athletes, Artur Miclos of Romania was second and Voyan
Furkan of Turkey third.
Svetlana Tkachi of Moldavia was second among women contestants,
and Veronika Badnjar of Yugoslavia third.
There were 150 athletes from 35 countries all over the world at
the Start of the 13th Belgrade Stark Marathon, 1,126 participants in
the semi-marathon, and about 15,000 contestants took part in the Fun
Run.
