Randers, Belgium, June 10 - Yugoslav handball players placed on the World Championship in France, defeating Danish home team 24-19 (12-6), in the play-off second leg match of the European qualifications in Randers as well.
Yugoslavia won the first leg match 26-22 which took place in Belgrade on June 3.
The Men's World Handball Championship is to be held in France in 2001.
Today's success was achieved in a superior manner, though after "only" four goals of advantage from the first game, the Yugoslavs "in blue" did not come to the return game carelessly.
The Yugoslavs literally "knocked out" the Danish. They played very well, defense play was tough and organized, attack was calm and movable.
The guest team dictated a strong tempo, mainly maintaining some 5-6 goals of lead. Today's game showed that the Yugoslav team had much more quality than the Danish one.
The best players of the Yugoslav national team were invincible goalkeeper Dejan Peric, Nedeljko Jovanovic, Mladen Bojinovic, Blazo Lisicic and Nenad Maksic.
