Belgrade/Parma, July 27 - Member of the Yugoslav football national team Savo Milosevic, signed four-year contract with Italian Parma, says today's edition of "Sportski zurnal" from Belgrade.
According to the Italian press, which quotes Yugoslav sport daily, the entire transfer amounts to 70 millions of Deutch marks. Milosevic's former club, Spanish Zaragoza will as a compensation collect money less than 50 million Deutch marks, and Milosevic is guaranteed about 5,5 million each season.
Parma recently sold their Argentine international striker
Hernan Crespo to Rome club Lazio for an Italian record transfer
fee of $54.1 million and after failing to agree terms with
Lazio's Chilean striker Marcelo Salas moved for the 26-year-old
Yugoslav.
Milosevic scored five goals for Yugoslavia at Euro 2000
making him joint top scorer in the tournament along with Dutch
striker Patrick Kluivert.
Last season Milosevic scored 19 goals in 30 league games for
Zaragoza and has been the target of transfer speculation
throughout the close season.
A powerfully-built forward, Milosevic began his career with
Partizan Belgrade and after 74 goals in 98 games for the
Yugoslav club he turned down a transfer to Italian club Perugia
and moved to English premier league side Aston Villa.
Following three largely disappointing seasons with the
Birmingham club he moved to Zaragoza in the summer of 1998 and
quickly rediscovered his form.
