Belgrade, September 29 - Defender Sinisa Mihajlovic was
named on Friday in Yugoslavia's squad for next month's World Cup
qualifiers after coming out of international retirement.
National coach Ilija Petkovic said the Lazio veteran had
reversed a decision to quit international football in the wake
of their 6-1 thrashing by the Netherlands at Euro 2000.
Yugoslavia face home matches against group one rivals Russia
on October 7 and the Faroe Islands four days later.
"The game with Russia is an extremely important one for
us...we managed to break a longstanding inferiority complex with
Russia when we beat them 1-0 in St Petersburg," Petkovic told a
news conference.
The only uncapped player in the squad is third-choice
goalkeeper Zarko Lucic.
