Red Star and Partizan to play their two matches at home without spectators

Football fans fight during a match between Red Star and Partizan

Belgrade, October 19 - The Yugoslav football association banned Belgrade teams Red Star and Partizan on Thursday from playing their next two matches at home before spectators after rioting fans forced Saturday's derby game to be abandoned.

The match was abandoned after only three minutes when Partizan fans sparked trouble by tossing fireworks and stadium seats at rival fans and on to the pitch.

Several Partizan players were attacked by fans from the Red Star section and later appeared sporting stitches and facial cuts.

The association has still to decide whether to order a replay of the match, wich was scoreless when it was stopped.
