Bologna, Italy, November 29 - Brunamonti sinks the triple at the buzzer at the end of the third quarter. Then Danilovic steps on court with his last blazer. Kinder's, of course.
But also Flavio Carera, former Kinder' s and now Montecatini's player, diving and sinking a hook. And Zoran Savic running down the baseline, Gus Binelli blocking
Varda and fouling Danilovic. These are the scenes at PalaMalaguti tonight, for
the "Sasa's Night", the last waltz played by Sasa Danilovic. Sasa said goodbye
with two quarters played with his two teams' blazers, Partizan first, and then
Kinder's.
The first part of the night was a real friendly game played between Kinder
and Partizan Belgrade; the first part ends 51 - 37, with 15 points by Frosini for
Kinder and 14 by Miroslav Beric for Partizan. Danilovic was introduced to the
crowd after the two teams, he greeted his fans and prepared for the game. The
images of his great career were being played by the maxi screens. Then the
game that finished with 3'40" still to go. Danilovic said goodbye to basketball
with 3'40" to go in the friendly game. His last one, that ended 71 - 63 for
Kinder.
"I am full of emotions. Anybody would feel that way, with such a
crowd. I found a great town to live in, and that's what I want to say. I did not
prepare any speech. I just want to make you know that I have been living
unforgettable years with you".
These are the last Danilovic’s words. Then he bows, he greets and he leaves us. Forever.
