Belgrade, December 11 - Yugoslavia coach Ilija Petkovic named a squad for an international friendly match with Greece.
Squad
Goalkeepers: Kocic (Red Star Belgrade), Lucic (Buducnost Podgorica).
Defenders: Rasovic, Cirkovic (both from Partizan Belgrade), Bunjevcevic, Lalatovic (both from Red Star Belgrade), Obradovic (Obilic Belgrade), D. Petkovic (OFK Beograd Belgrade), Dragutinovic (Standard Liege, Belgium), Djenic (Radnicki Nis).
Midfielders: Duljaj, V. Ivic, Trobok, S. Ilic (all from Partizan Belgrade), Djordjevic (Olympiakos, Greece), Simonovic (Obilic Belgrade).
Forwards: Drulic, Pjanovic (both from Red Star), Bogdanovic (Vojvodina Novi Sad), Gluscevic (Utrecht, Netherlands).
Petkovic confounded his critics on Monday by calling up 10 debutants. Yugoslavia coach, under fire from the media for keeping with the old guard at the expense of younger players, responded by picking only three men playing abroad in the 20-man squad.
But only one of the trio, Predrag Djordjevic of Olympiakos
Piraeus, has played for Yugoslavia before. Igor Gluscevic of FC
Utrecht and Ivica Dragutinovic of Standard Liege are among the
newcomers.
Petkovic indicated that his decision was partly down to
availability.
"We have taken the risk of fielding a team of Yugoslav
league players as our foreign-based internationals are
unavailable," he told a news conference.
The match will be played in Greek Xanthi, on December 13.
