Bogdan Tanjevic, new Buducnost's coach

Podgorica, YUGOSLAVIA, January 3rd - Bogdan Tanjevic, present coach of the Italian basketball national team is, now officially, also a new coach of the Yugoslav champion, Buducnost from Podgorica. Tanjevic signed a contract for a year and a half, with the possibility of extending that period, provided that both sides be pleased with cooperation. Former coach of Buducnost Miroslav Nikolic had unexpectedly last week announced his termination of cooperation with the team from Podgorica.

- There were offers from other clubs as well, first of all from Estudiantes, but Buducnost is yet more challenging than this Spanish first division team - Tanjevic said at the press conference.

- I want to dedicate myself completely to working in this club after September 10th, when my contract with Italian national team expires. I hope that I would have created good base for further work by that time.

Tanjevic also spoke about the goals of his new club in the rest of the season:

- I hope that we will repeat the last year's result in the national championship. As for Europe, we will try to achieve as much as we can. However, the competition in Europe is tremendous. Barcelona can play even in the NBA league, Olimpija and Olympiakos are also excellent squads. Teams in C group that we will challenge in the eight-finals, are very strong as well...
