Nantes, FRANCE, January 24 - The Yugoslav handball team beat the national team of Algeria 23-20 (14-7) in Nantes, France, in the 2nd round B group of the handball world championships late Wednesday.
The Yugoslav team which beat Brazil 31-23 in the first match of the championships on Tuesday evening, will meet with Argentina on Thursday.
The first 30 minutes of the match were marked by absolute dominance of the Yugoslav national team. Defense and attack were great and it seemed that our team would score victory in a convincing manner.
In the second half of the match the Algerians were only two goals behind (20-18 in the 49th minute). However, Yugoslavia scored three successive goals (23-18) and managed a calm ending.
