Sinisa Mihajlovic

Leeds, ENGLAND, March 14 - Sinisa Mihajlovic pinged a sensational injury-time free-kick into the top-right corner of Paul Robinson's goal to earn Lazio a point at Leeds United in the Champions' League clash.

Sinisa Mihajlovic's injury time equaliser salvaged a 3-3 draw for Lazio to save face from their disastrous Champions League campaign.

The Italian side seemed set to suffer the ignominy of a second defeat by the weakest of the three English representatives before the Yugoslav international stroked home a 25-metre free kick.

Leeds had already confirmed second place in group D behind Real Madrid and Dino Zoff was concentrating his energies on trying to rekindle Lazio's fast-fading Serie A hopes after his team's exit from the competition had already been ensured.

Lazio moved ahead in the 21st minute with a simply worked goal by Fabrizio Ravanelli. The game erupted in the 27th minute when Leeds levelled through Lee Bowyer's exquisite chip and Lazio broke away within a minute to grab a penalty that Mihajlovic tucked away after Ravanelli had been tripped by Dom Matteo.

Leeds fought back again and Jason Wilcox drilled home a volley from 10 metres after Ian Harte's corner was allowed to reach the far post in the 43rd minute.

Mark Viduka scored what looked like a 62nd minute winner. But Mihajlovic's stunning dead ball shot silenced the home supporters.

Bucharest, ROMANIA, March 13 - Yugoslav defender Srdjan Vasiljevic has joined Romanian champions Dinamo Bucharest on a two-and-a-half year contract, a club spokesman said on Wednesday.

"Dinamo need to strengthen their defence and Vasiljevic's signing will help the club towards achieving that goal," the spokesman said, without disclosing any financial terms of the deal.

The 29-year-old central defender, who was signed from Yugoslav second division side Zvezdara Belgrade, is likely to make his debut in Saturday's derby against Rapid Bucharest.

Dinamo currently lie fourth in the league table, seven points behind leaders Steaua Bucharest.

Valencia, SPAIN, March 7 - Valencia coach Hector Cuper has confirmed his faith in three of his aging stars, Jocelyn Angloma, Miroslav Djukic and Amedeo Carboni, by offering them one-year extensions to their contracts.

All three have been at the club since 1997, and have been instrumental in Valencia's recent success, which has included a runners-up spot in last season's Champions' League, and qualification for the quarter-finals this time round.

Perhaps the most surprising of the three is Djukic (35), who has not always found life easy at the Mestalla. In November last year, the Yugoslav revealed that he had not spoken to goalkeeper Santiago Canizares for two years.
