Yugoslavia without Stojkovic and Mijatovic

Belgrade, March 19 (agencies) - Dragan Stojkovic and Predrag Mijatovic have both been left out of Milovan Djoric's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Switzerland and Slovenia later this month.

"I have spoken with Stojkovic a couple of times," Djoric said. "I hope that he understood me. Stojkovic is a model to all young players both as a player and as a person. When I accepted the position of national team coach I decided not to call on him."

Djoric has selected a blend of youth and experience, and he believes that the tempo of the game will be crucial. "We have to play more quickly and more responsibly," he explained. "Having a winning mentality is also important."
