Karpin to miss World Cup qualifier
Vigo, SPAIN, April 22 (Reuters) - Celta Vigo midfielder
Valery Karpin is set to pull out of the Russian squad for next
week's World Cup qualifier against Yugoslavia in Belgrade with a
leg injury.
A scan confirmed that the Estonian-born player had torn a
muscle in his right leg during training with his club, Spanish
sports daily Marca reported on Sunday.
Karpin did not play in Celta's 2-1 first division victory
over local rivals Deportivo Coruna on Saturday.
