Podgorica, June 3 - At the very beginning of the first set, Yugoslav libero Vasa Mijic had to leave the pitch through injury. In spite of his absence, Yugoslavs easily finished the first set with a 25-15.
In the second set, Portugal tried as much as they could to back to the match, but the Yugoslavia, supported by over 4,000 spectators replied with excellent blocks and good receipts. The host team won the second set with 25-12.
Yugoslavia won the third set in the same manner.
