Russia - YUGOSLAVIA 2-0

Moscow, RUSSIA, June 2 - Yugoslavia lost 2-0 (HT:1-0) to Russia in the 2002 UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifier in Moscow.

Switzerland remain top of the group 1, and, despite defeat in Moscow, Yugoslavia still keep the second place. Switzerland won the same number of points as Yugoslavia - but they have a game in hand.

Russia took the lead through forward Kusov after ten minutes. The Alania Vladikavkaz star beat goalkeeper Radivojevic with ease after good work on the right. Brnovic failed to react when Boskovic centered for Yugoslavia, and the Russians secured the win when Bistrov took advantage of confusion in the defense and netted in the last minute.
