July 20 - The Yugoslav Dragan Skrbic of the German team HSG Nordhorn and Yugoslav-born Bojana Radulovic, Hungarian national team player, are the "worldhandball-players of the year 2000". Both were the winners of the vote of the "World Handball Magazine".
Skrbic had 57 points, the Russian Andrej Lavrov was second with 18 points and the German Christian Schwarzer, former player of the FC Barcelona and new player of the TBV Lemgo, was third (7).
