YUGOSLAVIA - France 3-2

Ostrava, CZECH REPUBLIC, September 8 Yugoslavia defeated France in their first match at the European Men's Volleyball Championship.

Olympic volleyball gold medallists fought a tight battle against France and won by 15-13 in the tiebreak.

France was down by 2-0, but they managed to reach fifth set. Yugoslavia was more experienced in the crucial points, thanks to the great performance by Vladimir Grbic.
