Vitoria, SPAIN, October 31 - Partizan controlled the game since the very first minute. The Yugoslav coach of Tau, Dusko Ivanovic, had warned everybody of Partizan's potential. His worst nightmares started to come true since the first quarter, when Partizan showed its intentions with a 10-21 lead after 8 minutes. They played with the scoreboard on their side against a Tau that played too quickly and made mistakes.
It was in the third quarter, when Tau managed to score an 8-0 run which made it game in the last quarter (60-63). Nevertheless, Partizan started minute 31 in the same way as most that came before, getting key baskets that put the home team on its heels. Continuous mistakes from downtown made Vitoria's comeback absolutely impossible.
