Yugoslavia- France 20-22

Jonkoping, SWEDEN, January 26 - Yugoslavia was defeated by reigning world champion France in the 2nd day of the 5th European men's handball championship in Sweden. France celebrated a 22-20 (14-9) win and took a lead in the group D.

The best Yugoslavia's scorer was Nedeljko Jovanovic with eight goals.

Yugoslavia will face Germany on January 27.

Group A: Czech Republic - Sweden 22-31, Ukraine - Poland 30-23.
Group B: Israel - Russia 26-27, Denmark - Portugal 27-20.
Group C: Iceland - Slovenia 31-25, Switzerland - Spain 22-24.
Group D: France - Yugoslavia 22-20, Germany - Croatia 26-21.
