Yugoslavia - Germany 27-21

Jonkoping, SWEDEN, January 27 - Having beaten Yugoslavia 27-21 (14-11) in the preliminary match at the 5th European Men's Handball Championship in Sweden, Germany clinched top spot in Group D. France took second place, while Yugoslavia advanced to the next round as third-placed team reducing its chances to fight for the medals.

German wings, Florian Kehrmann (8) and Stefan Kretzschmar (8), gave an excellent performance. Yugoslavia's Nedeljko Jovanovic scored seven times but not enough for a success.
