Salt Lake City, USA, February 24 (Reuters) - The Salt Lake City Winter Olympics were declared closed by International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge on Sunday.
Speaking at the closing ceremony in the Rice-Eccles Stadium, Rogge said: "I now
declare the 19th Winter Olympic Games (news
- web sites) closed and, in accordance with
Olympic tradition, I call upon the youth of the
world to assemble four years from now in
Turin to celebrate with us there the 20th
Olympic Winter Games."
