Ciudad, SPAIN, March 30 - After the 20-19 defeat in Belgrade the Spanish team gained a 29-25 (14-9) in the second leg and advanced to the final of the European Cupwinners Cup.
The decision in this match was already made in the first minutes of the match. The Spanish team, with Dushebaev and Hjermind in great performance, increased the score in the first ten minutes to 8-1. The guests from Yugoslavia managed to shorten the deficit with four goals in a row. But hosts were not shocked, at half-time they had a 14-9 lead.
In the second half Ciudad was defending the lead by five to seven goals. Partizan missed a few opportunities to shorten the distance and to come back into the match. At the end Spanish team secured the qualification for the final with a 29-25 victory.
