Vladislav Bogicevic to enter U.S. soccer hall of fame

New York, USA, June 24 (AP) - Former Yugoslav international Vladislav "Bogie" Bogicevic was selected Monday for induction into the United States' National Soccer Hall of Fame.
The midfielder, who was capped 47 times and played for Yugoslavia in the 1974 World Cup finals, was a star with the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League in the 1970s and 1980s.
Bogicevic, who joined the Cosmos in 1978, played for Red Star Belgrade for 15 years and helped the team win five championships.
During his six years with the Cosmos, the team won championships in 1978, 1980 and 1982. He was selected to the NASL all-star team every year and led the league in assists from 1981-83.
Induction ceremonies are Oct. 14.
