Yugoslav international Mijatovic joins Spanish second-division club
Madrid, SPAIN, September 3 (AP) - Former Real Madrid and Fiorentina star Predrag Mijatovic has
signed a one-year contract with second-division club Levante, news reports said
Tuesday.
The Yugoslav international forward had been without a contract since Fiorentina
was relegated in May and subsequently dismantled because of financial woes.
Mijatovic, who spent three years with Real Madrid, scored the only goal of the
1998 Champions Cup final, when the Spanish powerhouse beat Juventus.
The 33-year-old also played for Valencia and Partizan Belgrade.
In 1981, legendary Dutch soccer star Johan Cruyff also had a three-month spell
at Levante, which is based in Valencia.
