Belgrade, December 22 - The Yugoslav Olympic Committee has voted athletes of the year Dejan Bodiroga, captain of the Yugoslavia's basketball team that won the gold medal at the 15th Men's World Basketball Championship in Indianapolis, United States, and Mara Kovacevic, winner of the gold at the 16th World University Judo Championship in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia.

Yugoslav men's national basketball team was voted the best team for winning the gold medal at the World Basketball Championship.
