Madrid, SPAIN, January 31 - Radomir Antic of Yugoslavia reached a deal with FC Barcelona to take over as coach following the sacking of Louis van Gaal.
The deal would be for the rest of the season with an option to extend it depending on how the team performs, Efe said.
Van Gaal was fired on Tuesday as the traditional Spanish powerhouse
wallowed just three points from the relegation zone, although it has won all
10 of its Champions League games.
The highlight of Antic's career in Spain came in 1996 when he coached
Atletico de Madrid to the King's Cup and Spanish league titles. He has also coached Oviedo and Real Madrid.
