Darko Milicic was selected second by Detroit in the 2003 NBA Draft.

The Pistons landed the second pick in a trade six years ago and used it to pick a consensus standout talent in Milicic, a versatile forward just six days beyond his 18th birthday. He was the highest-drafted European in NBA history.

Milicic played last season with Hemofarm Vrsac in Serbia, averaging 9.5 points and 4.6 rebounds. He is expected to start alongside NBA rebound leader Ben Wallace and provide offensive spark for the point-challenged Pistons.
