Jan 30 - The founding session of the new Serbian parliament was postponed on Friday as the parties of the democratic bloc had failed to agree on a speaker, according to Velimir Simonovic of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), who chairs the session.
Simonovic said he had not yet decided when the session would resume.
The founding session of the Serbian parliament began on Jan 27, with the verification of the newly elected deputies' mandates.
Dragan Marsicanin of the DSS and Gordana Pop-Lazic of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) were nominated for the speaker's post, but none of them won enough support to be elected.
