Belgrade, January 2, 2004 (uefa.com/agencies) - Serbia-Montenegro's international Sasa Ilic has joined RC Celta de Vigo on loan from FC Partizan with an option for a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old is a full international with Serbia&Montenegro and has scored five goals in 19 games.
New Celta coach Radomir Antic is an admirer of the player, and said: "He is a skilled technician and leader. Despite his midfield position he scores an average of 15 goals a season."
Ilic, who had been with the Belgrade side since childhood, said of the move: "I am very happy. Finally I am going abroad after 18 years with Partizan. Spain is a real football country and Celta are an excellent team. I am expecting good results. I am not worried that I am leaving on loan. In June everything will be finalised."
Celta are currently fourth from bottom of the Primera Liga.
