Belgrade, Feb 26, 2004 - Serbian Minister of Urban Planning and Construction Dragoslav Sumarac said that the drawing up of a plan for detailed regulation of the Kopaonik mountain resort, for which the ministry set aside 3.6 million dinars in early 2003, is now in its final stage.
Sumarac told a press conference that the plan aims to protect the National Park Kopaonik from further deterioration, mostly due to illegal building in the area.
According to Sumarac, the plan envisions the construction of road infrastructure and multi-level garages on the outskirts of the central ski-resort, and also aims to improve service levels. The plan also includes the construction of a clinic, bus station, new firefighting station, and skiing lanes.
