Government approves further steps to dismantle RA nuclear reactor
Belgrade, March 1, 2004 - The Serbian government adopted on Thursday conclusions on further activities to implement a programme called "A Green Vinca," including the dismantling of the RA nuclear reactor and the removal from it of radioactive fuel, which is to be shipped and temporarily stored in Russia.
The activities will be carried out in line with all the guidelines and recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as well as with the obligations that Serbia has taken over as a member of the organisation.
The Serbian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Development, which has been assigned to perform the task, has reiterated Serbia's choice to promote the peaceful uses of atomic energy.
