Outgoing prime minister to hand over office to new prime minister

March 2 - After a new government is formed, outgoing Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Zivkovic will hand over office to the new prime minister. The ceremony will take place at the main government building, 11 Nemanjina St


Serbian Prime Minister Designate presents new government's policy and make-up

March 2 - The Serbian parliament has today begun its first regular session, with the election of the new Serbian government on the agenda. Parliament Speaker and Acting Serbian President Dragan Marsicanin proposed President of the Democratic Party of Serbia Vojislav Kostunica as Prime Minister Designate. Kostunica presented the programme of the new government and named his cabinet in an address to parliament members

Feb 6 - The Serbian parliament voted unanimously on Friday to elect members of the 29 permanent parliamentary committees, wrapping up its constitutive session that started on Jan 27


Serbian parliament's speaker and deputy speakers appointed

Feb 4 - Serbian parliament members elected Dragan Marsicanin speaker of the parliament. Marsicanin, a candidate of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), picked up 128 votes from deputies of the DSS, the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), New Serbia (NS) and the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), while the other candidate, Serbian Radical Party's (SRS) Gordana Pop-Lazic, received 81 votes


Serbian parliament puts off its founding session

Jan 30 - The founding session of the new Serbian parliament was postponed on Friday as the parties of the democratic bloc had failed to agree on a speaker
