Madrid, SPAIN, September 15 (Reuters) - Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo and Valladolid have all extended their winning starts to the Spanish league season to make it a five-way tie at the top of the table with two matches played.

Espanyol had the better of the early play against Real Sociedad but the sending-off of Antonio Soldevilla on 35 minutes for a second booking opened the way for the visitors.

Yugoslav striker Darko Kovacevic headed in the first on 40 minutes and Mikel Aranburu made it 2-0 early in the second half with a cool near-post finish.

Spanish international Raul Tamudo pulled one back for Espanyol 10 minutes from time and the home side were looking set to come back for a point before Kovacevic found space in the area for his third goal of the season.

Barcelona, SPAIN, September 17 (telebasket.com) - Five-time champ the head coach of Euroleague champion Panathinaikos of Athens, Zeljko Obradovic, has been named to lead a select team of "Euroleague Stars" that will play an exhibition game against Real Madrid on October 3 to celebrate the club's 100th anniversary.

The game will also mark the official opening of the new Euroleague season.

The naming of Obradovic, the most successful coach in European basketball history with 5 Euroleague titles and 2 Saporta Cup crowns, was the logical consequence of his team's triumph at the last Final Four, held from May 3 to 5 in Bologna, Italy. The "Euroleague Stars" team, made up of 12 players, will be announced next Monday, September 23.

Obradovic, 42, is nothing short of a coaching legend. He won his first European title with Partizan of Belgrade in 1992, his very first season as a head coach. He soon moved to Spain, where his next two Final Four victories came with different teams, Joventut of Badalona in 1994 and Real Madrid in 1995. Over the next four seasons, Obradovic had to settle for two Saporta Cup crowns, with Madrid in 1997 and Benetton Treviso in 1999. No sooner did he arrive in Panathinaikos, however, than the Greens won their second Euroleague title in 2000. Last season, with a unified Euroleague stronger than ever, Obradovic led the Greens to their third Euroleague title, not to mention the first won on an opponent's homecourt.

Besides an assortment of national titles, including two consecutive with Panathinaikos in 2000 and 2001, Obradovic divided his time by also coaching the Yugoslav national team. Under his direction, the Yugoslavs won the gold medal at the 1997 European Championships and the bronze at the 1999 European Championships. In 1998, Obradovic and Yugoslavia were world champions in Athens, winning the same title defended recently at the World Championships in America.
