Barcelona, SPAIN, April 29 (uefa.com) - The club's interim president Enric Reyna and the Serbian coach announced the deal last night, although it is still subject to ratification by the winner of presidential elections due in June. Reyna took over in February after Joan Gaspart decided to stand down but announced last week that the board would resign en masse in the summer to allow for the new elections.
"Antic has done a good job up until now and we are convinced that he will continue to do so," said Reyna on the club's official website. He added that the move was a "sign of the confidence" the club had in his work.
Antic's original contract, signed while Gaspart was still in charge, was only scheduled to run until the end of the season. Despite elimination from the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals last week, Antic is hopeful of an encouraging end to the season.
