Vigo, SPAIN, July 24 (uefa.com) - Serbo-Montenegrin international Savo Milosevic has joined RC Celta de Vigo on a season's loan from Parma AC.
The 29-year-old forward will link up with the Celta squad at their pre-season training camp in the Netherlands. However, the deal includes a clause stating that, should Milosevic fall injured while at Celta, Parma will pay his salary.
The clause was introduced after Celta's medical team discovered that Milosevic has a knee injury which is likely to restrict the number of games he will be able to play. "His knee could last one month, two months or six months," said club doctor Mario Galán.
Milosevic, who has won 75 international caps and scored 31 goals, could be a key figure in Celta's attempt to reach the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. The former FK Partizan, Aston Villa FC and Real Zaragoza player is confident his knee will hold up to the challenge. "I feel perfect," he said. "I am sure nothing bad is going to happen. I am used to playing around 35 matches a season."
Milosevic spent the 2002/03 campaign on loan at another Primera División side, RCD Espanyol, scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances.
