Eindhoven, NETHERLANDS, October 16, 2003 (AP) - Eindhoven police have thwarted a plan to kidnap PSV star striker Mateja Kezman.

They had to let him go due to insufficient evidence, according to
a club statement. It was unclear when the arrest was made.

"His reaction was that he's upset. Angry in a passive way. He's gone ahead with his normal life since he found out about it," said Hiddink.
Serbian international Kezman helped PSV to the Dutch championship last year and was top scorer with 35 goals.
He is currently involved in an unrelated dispute with the Dutch FA over a proposed three game suspension Ajax face a crucial match against rivals Ajax on October 26.
